Southern Draw - Evening Primrose

Southern Draw - Evening Primrose

Southern Draw

Southern Draw’s Evening Primrose is a darker, more assertive addition to the company’s core portfolio, built around a Mexican San Andrés Maduro wrapper over a seventh-priming Ecuadorian Sumatra binder. Inside is a deliberately structured filler blend of 50% Honduran tobacco, 25% Nicaraguan tobacco, and 25% U.S.-grown ligero. The cigars are produced at Tabacalera AJ Fernandez Cigars de Nicaragua in Estelí.

Originally introduced in 2022, Evening Primrose was developed in part to provide another robust option alongside Southern Draw’s popular Jacob’s Ladder. The name follows Southern Draw’s botanical theme, referencing the evening primrose—a flower known for opening toward evening and remaining open into the following morning.

The 6 x 52 Toro arrived as part of Southern Draw’s expansion of the line into more familiar retail-friendly sizes. It is a substantial, box-pressed Maduro with a blend designed around strength, body and tobacco character rather than relying on sweetness alone. The San Andrés wrapper and unusually high percentage of Honduran filler give Evening Primrose an identity distinctly its own within the Southern Draw portfolio.
