Roma Craft Maquette Scuttlebutt

Roma Craft Maquette Scuttlebutt

RoMa Craft

RoMa Craft Tobac pulls back the curtain on the blending process with CRAFT Maquette Scuttlebutt, a limited-production release that offers smokers a glimpse into how a blend develops before reaching its final form.

The CRAFT Maquette series is essentially RoMa Craft’s blending workshop made available to the public—small-production cigars built around ideas, variations, and experiments that would normally remain behind the doors of the factory. Scuttlebutt explores a softer interpretation of RoMa Craft’s Intemperance Whiskey Rebellion 1794, dialing back some of the intensity while maintaining the tobacco-driven character for which the company is known.

Produced at Fábrica de Tabacos NicaSueño in Estelí, Nicaragua, Scuttlebutt comes in a compact 4 5/8" × 48 format. RoMa Craft has deliberately kept the wrapper, binder, and filler tobaccos undisclosed, allowing the cigar—and the idea behind it—to speak for itself.

Skip Martin has described Scuttlebutt as one of his favorite Maquette blends to date, and RoMa Craft increased production accordingly. Even with that increase, only 1,800 ten-count packs were produced, making this a genuinely limited opportunity to experience one of RoMa Craft's works-in-progress.

For RoMa Craft enthusiasts, Scuttlebutt offers something particularly interesting: not simply another limited edition, but a chance to experience a piece of the creative process itself.
