In July 2021, Tabacalera Palma, the maker of the La Galera brand and a well-known factory in the Dominican Republic, announced the launch of a new line extension featuring a Cameroon wrapper, named La Galera Imperial Jade. This marks the sixth line under the La Galera label, joining the existing Connecticut, Habano, Maduro, 1936 Box Pressed, and Anemoi lines, but it is the first to incorporate a Cameroon wrapper.

For this blend, José “Jochy” Blanco and the Tabacalera Palma team selected a Dominican-grown criollo binder from their Jacagua farm, complemented by piloto cubano filler from the same farm and Dominican criollo 98 sourced from their La Canela farm.
